In the time of COVID

Dear Hakomi Education Network friends,

We would like to reach out to reassure you that we are paying close attention to the unfolding of Coronavirus (COVID-19), monitoring conditions around the world and the possible implications in terms of travels and quarantines. As an international group, we are giving this the relevance that it deserves since we rely on our ability to be mindful and take care of each other.

Your health and safety, and that of our teachers and trainers and the people that organize and host us are of crucial importance to us all.

While we are monitoring the outbreak as it develops, we are in close contact with each other and with local resources to make the most informed decisions about holding trainings and retreats. If, at any time, our local resources indicate that it is unsafe to hold the retreat/training you can be assured we will reschedule it and/or find a virtual alternative to its completion.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Warm regards,

The HEN Leadership Team

Pandemic
~ Lynn Ungar 3/11/20

What if you thought of it
as the Jews consider the Sabbath –
the most sacred of times?
Cease from travel.
Cease from buying and selling.
Give up, just for now, on trying to make the world different than it is.
Sing. Pray. Touch only those to whom you commit your life.
Center down
And when your body has become still,
reach out with your heart.
Know that we are connected
in ways that are terrifying and beautiful.
(You could hardly deny it now.)
Know that our lives
are in one another’s hands.
(Surely, that has come clear.)
Do not reach out your hands.
Reach out your heart.
Reach out your words.
Reach out all the tendrils
of compassion that move, invisibly,
where we cannot touch
Promise this world your love–
for better or for worse,
in sickness and in health,
so long as we all shall live.
